I’m Anjali, a multidisciplinary artist based in Southern California.

I specialize in visual development, costume design, character design, and have experience in picture  book illustration. I enjoy adapting to different styles and genres.

I have a variety of interests that revolve around material culture and folk art. I am particularly inspired by literature and art history. In my free time, I enjoy oil painting and writing, as well as making personal illustrations!

While I love a classic fairytale, I find that what resonates with me are stories that have a smidge of oddity: there’s something grotesque, gothic, an undercurrent of strangeness that bleeds throughout. There is an absurdity and a mysticism within these narratives that pushes me to create.
